To me, ingress traffic on an inside (LAN) interface should technically be traffic that is flowing OUT, since it is being received by the LAN on its way out of the network. Similarly, egress traffic on an outside (WAN) interface should also technically be flowing OUT, since it is being transmitted by the WAN on its way out of the network. Is this not correct for the views in NTA? Can someone clarify? The data in our NetFlow deployment is confusing the heck out of me.

I'm currently trying to finish installing the NTA 4.0.1 . I've completed the NTA database install part and I'm now working on the NTA server portion.
At the very end of the install, when the window opens and has ' Configuration installing' with the status bar showing progress, it finishes with an error.
Specifically it says:
*Website Configuration Failed: Un-handled exception occurred during instantiating type [SolarWinds.Orion.Core.Discovery.Plugin] from assembly [SolarWinds.Orion.Core.DiscoveryPlugin]*
Went ahead with the HotFixes but I received the same error during the configuration phase of each HotFix.
Did some research, and the discovery plugin mentioned in the error is from HotFix 2 on the NPM module.
A theory was it needed to be un-installed and re-installed? I shouldn't install it period? It was installed incorrectly?
If anyone has any experience in this, I would greatly appreciate the feedback. Working to get this installed on an Enterprise network now rather than later.

Here was my upgrade levels
SAM 6.2 to 6.2.2
NPM 11.5 to 11.5.2
VOIP 4.2 to 4.2.2
NTA 4.1 to 4.1.1
NCM 7.3.2 to 7.4.0
After the upgrades, I logged into NPM and noticed that the NTA tab was missing. Has anyone seen this? Is this anything easy to fix or do I need to open a case with support?

Hey all,
I have a few 1841's in the field and I can't seem to get netflow to report to Solarwinds from them. I can see the overall tx/rx, but can't delve in deeper. Can anyone help with configuring the router to report netflow stats back to Solarwinds?

I have two questions that center around the same Idea.
1. I have NPM, NCM, SAM, and NTA installed on a primary server and just NPM APE installed on a secondary server. The secondary server used to be the primary server before a migration and all flow data is still sent there by our equipment. Will this NPM APE receive netflow data without having to have a second NTA license installed on the APE or do I have to reconfigure to send flow data to the new server?
2. If I do have to have additional licenses, is applying them to the additional poller the same as doing a fresh install, I just have to connect the modules to the existing primary database?

Within a netflow summary page, below. The charts in the page take a long time to load. This page which holds the last 7 days of both Ingress and Egress data, has been loading for over 5 hours. The data eventually loads but only after the 5 hours for a single page. Any suggestions or potential cause of this issue?
Trying to figure out how to alert on if traffic on a certain port (not interface) stops. I see it in NetFlow but searching for a way to alert on this condition is elusive.

Has anyone received this error message when performing a fresh install of NTA 4.1. The flow storage server is configured and the connection tests ok. I am getting this error message on the polling server.
NTA 4.1 install error - "Invalid Orion Core Configuration Value. The registry value at HKLM\SOFTWARE\SolarWinds\Orion\Core\Configuration is not valid".

I currently have the most recent version of NTA. We have some DVR's on our network. I would like to be able to track users who are streaming video from the DVR using NTA. Is this possible, can someone please help me iron this out.

I have the Orion with NPM, and everything was running fine. I then decided to test NTA as a trial, and it installed fine and integrated with my existing Orion. We decided no to move forward with it, so I uninstalled it. Well it stayed showing up in my Orion, so I went into the settings and removed all traces to NTA there. It still shows up in my Orion, and also it's continuing to bug me and remind me that it's evaluation period has expired. I then re-run the Orion configuration wizard, and NTA is still there.
I've removed all traces I can find of NTA, I've re-ran the Orion configuration wizard, I don't know what else to do. How can I get NTA out of my existing installation?
EDIT: I've also followed the instructions here, http://www.solarwinds.com/documentation/netflow/docs/releasenotes/releasenotes30.htm#Uninstalling with no success.
Does anyone have a standard set of configs to get Netflow working on a Cisco ISR 4300 series router so that it will export to NTA? It doesn't seem to like the basic configuration that Ive been using on my other routers.
This is good message for everybody who have devices with AppFlow support. We're working on adding AppFlow support into NTA.
If you have PaloAlto, SonicWall, Citrix or any other device exporting appFlows, I'd truly appreciate sample of the .pacp file for investigation purposes.

If I turn on NBAR on my routers, will NTA understand what i's getting and list the applications correctly?
We are using NetFlow 4.1.1 and trying to see if we can accomplish 2 things:
1) Alert on if a specific country shows up on the list
2) Create a report f countries
I have not been able to accomplish either and I have been trying to "think outside the box" using crazy SQL queries, etc.

We use CBWFQ policies on WAN interface. Some software (such as NetQoS) can generate reports based on the configured classes. The report actually shows the configured class names on routers. I installed NTA demo but couldn't find such a report. Thanks!

In some situation NetFlow Statistics are processed twice, even when you take care of avoiding duplication.
Since it is not possible to prevent the duplication of statistics at the hardware level, duplication must be detected in the application that analyses the NetFlow statistics.
- Does NTA provide NetFlow statistics filters based on Source/Destination IP address / Ports or "next hope" fileds information ... ?
- Any workaround to help filter out duplicated stats ?

Specifically S50Ns? I'm looking to deploy a new network and thinking of using HP2910s or Force 10 S50Ns. Will have about 500 ports total spread out over 2 physical locations with 3 wiring closets each. I haven't used sflow before, but I want to be able to monitor all of the traffic and protocols on our LAN/WAN. Currently we use Orion NPM for uptime and bandwidth, but I want to be able to see "what" not just "how much". Does it make sense to make sure every switch with every port supports sflow or can some strategically placed switches gather all of the data? Can you collect flows from all ports in use at all times or does that kill the LAN? Really appreciate any ideas/information that people may have. Maybe I need more of a classic sniffer, but it seems like sflow monitoring is the way to go.

Does anyone have a download link for the NTA additional web server install? There doesn't appear to be a standalone install in the customer portal and the installer included in the webserver bundle seems to be 3.11 instead of 4.11 for some reason.
